Well done to the U-11 Boys football team, who’ve had a great start to the season. Last week the team took on St Helen’s in the cup. After conceding an early goal and being 1-0 down at half time the boys pulled it back in the second half with a goal from Louie Ferrin and two goals from James Ashley, to make it 3-1 by full time.
This week, the team travelled to Cowes to take on Lanesend Primary School. Gatten were 2-0 up by half time, with goals from Ayden Boustead and a pin-point free kick by James Ashley into the bottom left-hand corner of the net. Mackenzie Jerez-Perkins made it 3-0 midway through the second half, latching onto some sloppy defending by Lanesend and slipping the ball beneath the keeper and into the back of the net. Full time 3-0
The boys have played really well as a team and have been excellent ambassadors for Gatten and Lake Primary, showing great teamwork and sportsmanship.
