…..And they’re off……………………………….. to the STEM F1 Jaguar competition

Stem Year 5

Thursday 26th April saw two groups of Year 5 children attend and compete in the Regional heats of the STEM F1 Jaguar Cars competition. The groups were competing  for a place at the National competition which is to be held at the National Motor museum.

The lead up to this event required our budding engineers to work in during lunch breaks and also after school, to design, test and then race their completed cars.

This work culminated at the race day which was held at CECAMM and the hard work of all the children involved resulted in one of the groups being awarded 2nd place overall out of 12 schools and qualifying to the National competition to be held in June.

This was a fantastic achievement because each group had to produce a portfolio showing the development and also a presentation to the judges, along with competing in the race.

As you can see from the photographs, our engineers thoroughly enjoyed the day and I am immensely proud of all of you – you were a credit to the school.

Well Done
