Next Friday (11th March) we have ‘Dr Bike’ visiting school to carry out health checks on children’s bikes.
Dr Bike is a free service that will look at the brakes, tyres, gears and the general road-worthiness of your child’s bike and make any minor adjustments or fixes needed.
Just in time for the good weather 🚲
Today, is Safer Internet Day and the theme this year is about how we can all play part to have a safer internet and explores respect and relationships online.
Safer Internet Day is celebrated globally each year to promote the safe and positive use of digital technology for children and young people, and to inspire a national conversation about using technology responsibly, respectfully, critically, and creatively.
In support of this campaign we would like to share a brilliant online resource to help support parents and carers at home in keeping children safe online.
A separate letter will be emailed to you before the end of the school day with more details of the how to use the ‘National Online Safety’ app.
It’s free to sign up and I have posted links below to download the app from both the google play store and the apple store. There is also a web link to access the online resource.
You can support this campaign by sharing safety advice with friends and family
A huge well done to the year five and six children, who represented Gatten and Lake at the Indoor Athletics festival yesterday at the Bay Academy. It has been a long time since we have taken part in events involving other schools and Mr Conway and Miss McGregor, who accompanied the group , said the children were superb ambassadors for the school. All of the children did amazingly well in their track and field events and showed great team spirit and determination.
Ask your class teacher for an ‘Active Travel Calendar’ to record your travel to school and be in with a chance of winning a top prize.
